Your Gut May Be Causing Depression

Your Gut May Be Causing Depression

One of the most common issues we hear from new clients entering our wellness program is that they feel depressed. Many of our clients have been to their traditional doctor for symptoms of depression that have snowballed into sleepless nights, poor digestive, acid reflux, infertility and body pain only to be given medications that suppress their symptoms, and leave them feeling just as bad as when they sought help in the first place.

“What is wrong with me? My doctor can’t help me.” We hear this a lot. And the answer is usually very simple: your gut. Your gut health is critical to your overall well-being, mentally and physically. And studies have shown that gut health is one of the major causes of depression. If you are “eating healthy” and exercising but still feel terrible, it’s time to take a deeper look at the root of the problem.

Our brain and our gut have a vital connection and communicate with each other to keep our bodies running properly. A majority of our immune systems lives in our gut, and when there is a dysfunction, inflammation usually occurs. The brain and the body take action to remedy it but if you’re body has been off balance for even a short period of time, your symptoms could be crippling.

At Thrive Functional Wellness center, we approach your health holistically. We customize a unique program for each client to personally address and heal their underlying issues.  Our program gives you tools of nutrition education, supplements, health coaching and more to get your body and mind back on track so you can live the life you deserve.

One of the best ways to share how our program works to change your life and help you regain your health is by sharing our client’s testimonials. Meet Edlin, who came to our program with gut issues, anxiety, depression, acid reflux and other maladies but today, she is living happy and healthy.
