5 Signs Of Unhealthy Gut

A person’s overall health is directly linked to their gut. When the bacteria in the gut become imbalanced, symptoms such as constipation, bloating, gas, diarrhea and acid reflux occurs.

All of these gut issues have an impact on sleep, weight, mental health and the immune system. The following explains five signs of an unhealthy gut.

AN UPSET STOMACH

An upset stomach after meals, which can include bloating, heartburn and gas, is a common sign of gut issues.

When the gut is balanced, food is processed properly without discomfort and there is less waste. A change in diet, especially eliminating sugar, often brings relief.

POOR SLEEP AND CHRONIC FATIGUE

Another sign of an unhealthy gut is insomnia or disturbed sleep patterns. An inability to sleep can lead to chronic fatigue, making daily life difficult.

This happens because serotonin, which has an effect on both sleep and general mood, is created in the gut. When a person does not sleep well, they are at risk for fibromyalgia and other health problems.

CHANGES IN WEIGHT

When weight loss or gain occurs without exercise or dietary changes, it can be a sign of gut issues. A gut that is out of balance is unable to regulate glucose, store fat properly or absorb nutrients.

Gaining weight unexpectedly is related to insulin resistance, while a sudden weight loss may have a connection to bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine.

SKIN IRRITATION

Eczema is a skin condition that may be connected to gut inflammation. Food allergies or a poor overall diet can cause proteins to leak into the bloodstream, causing irritations and rashes in the skin.

It is important to see a doctor about eczema to determine its exact cause and treatment.

AUTOIMMUNE ILLNESS

Ongoing research continues to find connections between the gut and the immune system.

Gut issues are a sign of imbalance, which contributes to inflammation throughout the body and causes the immune system to malfunction.

Autoimmune illness develops when the body begins to fight itself instead of genuine enemies like viruses and bad bacteria.

Most gut issues can be reversed by choosing a better diet, drinking more water, getting food intolerances under control and reducing stress.

Our testing identifies metabolic dysfunction and hormone imbalances – we have supplements, detox (which cleans, cleanses and repairs the gut) plus nutritional plans and coaching.
