3 Supplements We All Should Be Taking

To stay healthy, our bodies need some essential nutrients, which we can provide through a well-balanced diet. However, since we do not give much importance to what we eat, we may suffer from a deficiency of important minerals and vitamins.

However, there is nothing to worry about as nutritional supplements are available which can easily fulfill the needs of our bodies. Now, there are quite a few supplements, but among them, there are 3 that we all should take, and we shall learn about them right away.

1. Magnesium

Every organ and cell in our bodies needs magnesium for fluid operation. And, it is all the more important for the proper enzyme, muscle, and nerve functioning.

Magnesium deficiency can lead to various health issues including diabetes, arrhythmias, migraines, insomnia, hypertension, premature ejaculation, and so on.

So, we must make sure our bodies get enough magnesium, through supplements, if it is not possible through diet. Now, you can get magnesium in various forms. Magnesium citrate and magnesium oxide can help relax bowels. Magnesium malate can prove to be helpful if you experience migraines, headaches, and pain often. Magnesium Threonate helps improve memory and brain function, and, magnesium glycinate can help you sleep better.

2. Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant that is needed for important body functions like neurotransmitter synthesis, protein metabolism, and collagen synthesis. It is essential for our immune health and supports external as well as internal healing.

Now, Vitamin C is water-soluble, and water-soluble vitamins should ideally be taken empty stomach. However, since vitamin C is very acidic, some experts suggest taking a supplement either with a meal, after a meal, or before a meal.

3. Fish Oil

Fish oils are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to offer many cardiovascular, ophthalmic, metabolic, and neurocognitive health benefits.

Our bodies cannot produce omega-3 fatty acids on their own. So, it has to be obtained from food, mainly seafood like sardines and salmon. However, many people do not like having fish, and for them, fish oil supplements are a perfect choice.

You can take fish oil supplementation whenever you want, but they get best absorbed during meals. If, however, you have a history of indigestion or acid reflux, then take fish oil right before your meal.
